Help Shape the Future of Behavioral Health in Claremont, La Verne, and Pomona
We’re looking for passionate, dedicated individuals who want to help shape the future of behavioral health and wellness in Claremont, La Verne and Pomona. As part of Together for Change, you’ll share your voice, listen to others, and help guide how Tri-City Mental Health services and programming evolve during the statewide transition from the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) to the Behavioral Health Services Act (BHSA).
What’s Changing:
California is shifting from the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) to the Behavioral Health Services Act (BHSA). This new law, effective July 1, 2026, will:
-
Expand services to include substance use disorders (SUD)
-
Prioritize housing for people with behavioral health needs
-
Change how counties use and report funding
-
Focus on community impact and outcomes
Planning is already underway, and your input can shape programs, services, and priorities for the next decade.
As the government agency overseeing mental health services in our three cities, Tri-City Mental Health is directly impacted by this change, as many of our programs are funded through the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA).
Be a Part of the Change!
To ensure the community has a voice in how these changes are implemented, we’ve created a group called Together for Change. This group offers a meaningful opportunity to get involved in the planning process and share feedback that can shape how services are designed.
Whether your concerns involve mental health, substance use, housing, or access to care, your input can help us build a system that better serves everyone.
